Whitman Runs Indoor Best in Day One at New Mexico Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Travis Whitman ran an indoor best 49.56 seconds in the 400-meter dash, and the adjusted time unofficially ranked third in the RMAC performance lists, as he led the University of Colorado Colorado Springs after the first day of the New Mexico Invitational today at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Whitman finished first overall between the two heats that ran today and won by two-tenths of a second against Wayland Baptist's Denard Steele. Sam Marsh and Nathan Weeks finished third and fourth overall with unadjusted times of 50.92 and 51.28, respectively.

Chad Liscar ran his first 200-meter dash of the season with 22.84 seconds to lead three Mountain Lions in the race. His adjusted time of 23.32 seconds unofficially puts him in No. 11 in the conference performance lists.

UCCS will continue at the New Mexico Invitational tomorrow morning.
