TURLOCK, Calif. - Lauren Graham of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs took sixth place in the pole vault Friday evening at the 2011 NCAA Division II National Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Minnesota State's Lauren Stelton, who barely beat Graham at the 2011 indoor championships, made it two-for-two by clearing 3.97 meters (13 feet, 0.25 inches).

Kristen Hixson of Grand Valley State and Jaime Roberts of Northern Michigan each cleared 3.87 meters, with Hixson getting second place because of the tiebreaker. Graham was joined at 3.77 meters by Jocelyn Kuksa - Hixson's teammate at Grand Valley State - and Alycia Wagner of Cal State-Stanislaus. The tiebreaker put Kuksa fourth, Wagner fifth and Graham sixth.

Graham was competing despite a hip injury that had hindered her all season. She was attempting to become the first UCCS athlete to win an individual track & field national championship since Moses Tum in the 1,500-meter run in 2005.
