Twelve UCCS track & field athletes named All-RMAC

The University of Colorado-Colorado Springs had 12 athletes from nine events gain All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honors during the RMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship on May 8-10 in Golden.

The lone first-team All-Conference UCCS athlete came from the women's team, Lauren Graham. Graham became a back-to -back RMAC outdoor track and field champion by winning the 2011 women's pole vault event. Graham also broke the RMAC event record for the women's pole vault during the 2011 Championship.

The second-team RMAC All-Conference went to eight UCCS athletes across five events. The second-team honors were three on the women's side and two on the men's side with one of the men's second team honors being a relay. The men's 4x400 placed second with a team that consisted of Alan Ford, Travis Whitman, Marc Hensley and Jonathan Wright. The individual event second-team members were Brien Hopkins in the men's decathlon with a third-place finish, Alexa Urban in the women's 800 meters with a third-place finish, Ashley Benfield in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a third-place finish and Chelsie Overocker in the women's triple jump with a fourth-place finish.

UCCS also had three third-team All-Conference members. The UCCS third team honors were Kaitlin Frier in the women's 10,000 meters with a fifth-place finish, Anthony Cardinale in the men's long jump with a fifth-place finish and Mitch Jones in the decathlon with a sixth-place finish.
