Three University of Colorado at Colorado Springs athletes were named all-Central region in indoor track by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced Tuesday.

Pole vaulter Lauren Graham, high jumper Erika Cushnie and 400-meter man Jonathan Wright received all-region nods.

Graham, a sophomore from Lancaster, Calif., leads the nation in her event with a mark of 4.06 meters (12 feet, 6.75 inches). She will be the top seed at the NCAA Division II National Indoor Track & Field Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. Her event will be held Friday at 4:10 p.m.

Cushnie is a freshman from Hilo, Hawaii and was also a member of the Mountain Lions volleyball team. She cleared a school-record 1.67 meters (5 feet, 5.75 inches) at last week's RMAC Championships and, while she earned a provisional qualifying mark for nationals, just missed the final cut.

Like Cushnie, Wright earned a provisional mark but won't be competing at nationals. The freshman from Grand Junction's best mark this season was 48.51 seconds. He went on the win the event at the RMAC championships, the only male true freshmen to win an RMAC individual title.

This year was the first time that the USTFCCCA has named all-region honorees for indoor track & field in Division II. The top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three earned the all-region distinction for the 2011 indoor season.

A total of 1,039 athletes received 1,482 all-region nods in the inaugural class.
