June 8, 2011UCCS track & field adds 12University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field coach David Harmer announced Wednesday that the Mountain Lions had signed 12 athletes to join the team for the 2011-12 season.Among the newcomers are two Colorado Springs standouts: T.J. Frison of Vista Ridge High School and David Krumland of Rampart High School. Other Coloradoans added to the roster include Ryan Buchanan of Glenwood Springs HS, Ryan Tomlinson of Castle View HS, Taylor Russell of Karval HS and Lauren Roberts of Moffat County HS.
May 19, 2011Nine Mountain Lions earn USTFCCCA all-region honorsNine University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field athletes were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Central Region team, which was released Tuesday.Alan Ford, Marc Hensley, Travis Whitman and Jonathan Wright were all named all-region as members of the UCCS 4 X 400-relay team, while Anthony Cardinale earned the honor in the long jump. On the women's side, honorees were Ashley Benfield (400-meter hurdles), Lauren Graham (pole vault), Chelsie Overocker (triple jump) and Alexa Urban (800-meter run).

Lauren Graham was a first-team selection, Brien Hopkins and Jason Shaver were second-team selections and five others were named to the honor roll.Mountain Lions on the honor roll were: Kaitlin Frier, Melissa Buchanan, Sara Kettelkamp, Alan Ford and Casey Weaver.

Representing the women's team will be Ashley Benfield, Allison Watson and Kaitlin Frier. The men will be represented by Canyon Parcell, Chris Reynolds and Jason Shaver.
December 10, 2010Youth has been served on the UCCS track teamThe performer of the night is junior college transfer Colby Elliott. He competed in five events, broke two individual school records and was a member of tonight’s school record 4x400 meter relay team. Elliott’s night went as follows; fourth in the 60 meter hurdles with a school record 8.67 time, winner in the 300 meter with a school record time of 35.61, 12th in the high jump with a mark of 1.74 meters and 12th in the long jump with a mark of 6.17 meters. This guy is going to be something really special for UCCS track and field.
