Graham named field athlete of the week

By Doug Fitzgerald published April 1, 2010

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs pole vaulter Lauren Graham was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

The freshman from Lancaster, Calif., currently leads Division II in the pole vault after she posted a 3.86 meter NCAA provisional mark at the CSU Pueblo Open on March 28.

It was the second athlete of the week award for Graham, who also earned that honor on Jan. 27. In nine collegiate competitions, Graham has now come away with five first-place finishes and one second-place finish. The other three competitions were against NCAA Division I fields. In fact, Graham has placed behind a fellow Division II athlete just once to date.
