Barry Named First-Team All-Academic, Seven Others Named to Honor Roll

COLORADO SPRINGS - University of Colorado at Colorado Springs runner Kelsey Barry was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field First-Team All-Academic, the RMAC announced Thursday.

The junior from Colorado Springs took fourth place in the women's 800-meter run at the RMAC Championships. She also ran the first leg for the UCCS 4 X 400 relay team that took fifth.

In the classroom, Barry has maintained a 3.92 GPA in Business Management.

Seven other Mountain Lions were named to the RMAC Outdoor Track Academic Honor Roll. Jennifer Callan, Josi Heer, Kaitlin Frier, Alicia Del Pardo, Jennifer Hunt, Christy Severy and Paige Hall were all named.

To qualify for Academic All-RMAC, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.20 or better, be a starter or key reserve, and completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institution. Their GPA is what they had earned prior to outdoor track & field season beginning. RMAC Sports Information Directors at schools that sponsor the sport of women's outdoor track & field selected First and Second Team Academic All-RMAC.
