Barry, Nine Others Named to Academic All-RMAC Team for Indoor Track

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs junior Kelsey Barry was named second team indoor track & field all-academic by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference while nine of her teammates were named to the RMAC's indoor track academic honor roll, the conference announced Wednesday.

Barry, a Business Management major, has maintained a 3.92 grade-point average. She also took fifth place in the 800-meter run at the RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 28 with a time of 2:20.64. She took second in the same event at the Joe Davies Invitational on Jan. 31.

Named to the honor roll were Jenny Hunt, Kaitlyn Frier, Christy Severy, Alicia Del Pardo, Jennifer Callan and Paige Hall from the UCCS women's team. Representing the UCCS men on the honor roll were Jason Shaver, Alex Tiernan and Trevor Nau.

To qualify for Academic All-RMAC, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.20 or better, be a starter or key reserve, and completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institution. Their GPA is what they had earned prior to indoor track & field season beginning.

RMAC Sports Information Directors at schools that sponsor the sport of women's indoor track & field selected First and Second Team Academic All-RMAC.
