UCCS' Gomez earns second RMAC field athlete of the week award this season

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs high jumper Steven Gomez was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
The freshman from Denver cleard 6 feet, 11 inches at the CSM Twilight Invitational to earn an automatic qualifying mark for nationals, which will be held March 13-14 in Houston.
It was the second RMAC field athlete of the week award this season for Gomez, who now ranks third on the national qualifying list.
