cross country/track sign seven

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs cross country/track coach Graeme Badger announced the signing of seven athletes to National Letters of Intent Wednesday.

Vivian Reed from Cienga High School in Tucson won her regional meet in the 3,200-meter run with a personal-best time of 11 minutes, 48.39 seconds. She has also posted solid times in the mile (5:26), two-mile (11:41) and the 5,000 meters (19:02). As a cross country runner, she placed ninth in the Arizona Class 4A state championships.

Tracy Falsetto comes to UCCS from Trinidad State Junior College. She has posted times of 2:27 in the 800 and 5:47 in the mile.

Paige Hall took third in the state of Montana in the 1,600 meters in 2007 with a time of 5:30.98 while competing for Hellgate High School in Missoula. She has also posted times of 5:35 in the mile and 19:29 in the 5,000. Hall took 32nd in the 2006 state cross country meet.

Kaitlin Frier of Colorado Springs' Lewis-Palmer High School comes to UCCS with personal-best times of 5:26 in the mile, 11;32 in the two mile and 19:31 in the 5,000 meters.

Melissa McKinley took fourth in the 800 at the Oregon state meet while competing for Hermiston High School. She owns a personal best time of 2:20 in the event as well as 5:10 in the 1,500 and 19:45 in the 5,000.

On the men's side, Evan Lewis comes to UCCS from Lincolnview HS in Van Wert, Ohio, with times of 4:49 in the mile, 10:30 in the two mile and 17:04 in the 5,000. Chris Reynolds, who graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in Evansville, Ind., has run a 4:32 mile.
