First day of RMAC Championships conclude

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs women's track team finished the first day of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships in sixth place with a total of six team points on Friday in Golden, Colorado.

All of the team's points came in the Distance Medley where the team of Jenna Dorsey-Spitz, Jessica Hudson, Kelsey Barry, and Sarah Shepard finished third with a time of 12 minutes, 50 seconds, and 48 one-tenths of a second.

Kelsey Barry and Rebecca Wein both competed in two individual events on the first of a two day competition. Barry finished 11th in the 60-meter hurdles (10.07) and 16th in the 400m (1:04.48). Wein finished 13th in the 200m (27.59) and 18th in the 400m (1:05.90).

Kristen Anderson was able to earn a top ten finish in the 5,000m with a time of 19:33.95, which was good for 10th overall. Christy Severy also competed in the 5,000m and finished in 14th place.

The meet concludes tomorrow in Golden, where the Mountain Lions will be trying to close the gap to the overall team leader, Western State, who has a team total of 68 points.
