Mountain Lions place sixth at RMAC championships

David Harmer had a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run on Saturday during the final day of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Indoor Championships in Golden, Colorado.

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs nearly doubled their point total from the first day of competition by amassing 16 team points in the final day of the competition, which took their two-day total to 23, which was enough to earn the Mountain Lions a sixth-place finish.

Harmer's fifth-place finish with a time of 1 minute, 55 seconds, and 19 one-tenths of a second earning four points for the team. Teammate Alex Vasquez also competed in the 800m and finished 10th with a time of 1:58.68.

Storm Allen was able to continue his strong high jump season by finishing second with a jump of 6 feet, 8.25 inches, which gave the Mountain Lions eight team points. Allen also competed in the triple jump and finished in eighth-place with a jump of 44 feet, 8.75 inches.

The other team points came in the 4X400m relay where the team of Alex Vasquez, Carl Lum, Almir Hodzic, and David Harmer placed sixth with a time of 3:34.10 which notched three team points.

The only other competitor was Gabe Small, who ran the 3,000m and finished 19th.

The Mountain Lions do not compete again until March 9 in the NCAA Indoor Championships in Boston.
