UCCS men compete at Boulder meet
Aaron Rubalcaba-Lopez had a fifth-place finish to lead nine University of Colorado at Colorado Springs runners in the men's 3,000-meter run Friday at the Potts Invitational in Boulder.
Storm Allen made it 3-for-3 by winning the high jump with a leap of 2.02 meters (6 feet, seven.50 inches). Allen is closing in on an NCAA provisional qualifying jump, missing the mark by 0.02 meters. Allen also won the high jump at the Mountain Lions' previous two meets.
Rubalcaba-Lopez covered the 3,000 meters in 8 minutes, 59.42 seconds. David Harmer was next among UCCS runners in the race with a 10th-place finish. Carlos Ruibal, Dustin Simoens, Joel Kinitz, Gabe Small and Dan Pinter grabbed 12th through 16th places respectively.
Jeremiah Moore finished a solid fifth in the 800-meter run, while Carl Lum and Tory Passalaqua grabbed sixth and seventh in the 400-meter run. Lum also competed in the 200.
