UCCS Begins Indoor Track Season

Shannon Payne finished second in the 3,000-meters as the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs kicked off the 2006 indoor track season Friday at the Air Force All-Comers Meet.
Payne covered the distance at the Cadet Fieldhouse's track in 10 minutes, 46.39 seconds. She was 17.60 seconds behind first-place Danielle Korb, who was running unattached.
The Mountain Lions also got an 11th-place finish out of freshman Jessica Hudson in the 40-meter dash.
Two runners with UCCS ties competed in the mile run. Amanda Occhi, who starred at UCCS in 2001-02, took fourth and current senior Tina Gray took fifth while running unattached.
