UCCS earns team points at nationals

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs earned team points Saturday in the women's standings at the NCAA Division II National Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Ashley Birger took sixth in the final of the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11 minutes, 9.94 seconds. Her finish earned UCCS three points.
Brad Winn ran the men's steeplechase in 9:29.22, which placed him ninth. Winn's finish was just 1.77 seconds behind eighth place and the team point that spot earns.
