Birger, Payne shine at Trojan Invite

Ashley Birger and Shannon Payne's performances at the Trojan Inviational at the University of Southern California Saturday, rewrote the record book.
Birger ran the 1,500 meter-run and finished with a time of 4:42.58. Birger's time set a school record and provisionally qualified her for nationals.
Payne had the same experience that Birger had. Payne's time of 17:11.28 in the 5,000 meter-run set a school record as well as provisionally qualified her for nationals.
Lisa Short competed in 1,500 meter with a time of 5:04.82. Kristen Andersen also competed, finishing with a time of 5:16.18.
Caitlin Cochran ran the 400 meter-dash in a time of 1:03.87.
