Gray Leads UCCS Women in Golden
Tina Gray finished seventh in the mile run as the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs women's track team earned 11 team points at the Joe Davies Invitational in Golden, Colo., on Saturday.
Gray earned one point for her effort, during which she covered the distance in 5 minutes, 36.98 seconds. Lisa Short and Ashley Brotherton also competed in the mile for the Mountain Lions.
UCCS' other 10 points were earned by the Mountain Lions' distance medley team, which ran a 12:44.14. The Western State team was a scratch, making UCCS the only competitor in the event.
Megan Lund took 10th in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:15.52 to lead five Mountain Lions in that event.
UCCS also had its first high jumper to compete in an indoor meet. Cori Brever finished 14th in the event by clearing 4 feet, 8 inches.
