Some people say athletes don't need to be smart and will just coast through life on their athletic ability. Well, the men's track team is showing those people that an education is important.

Thursday, UCCS was announced as USTFCCCA All-Academic team with a combined team GPA of 3.06

To qualify for this honor, individuals had to be in the top 30% of participants at their regional meet and have a 3.25 GPA or higher. For a team to qualify, it had to have a team GPA of 3.0 and all of the participants in the regional meet had to comprise that GPA.

It's quite an accomplishment considering the team consists of 23 athletes who all combined had to average a 3.0 or better.
