David Harmer finished seventh out of 25 runners in the 800-meter run Friday at the Air Force Invitational. Harmer finished second in his heat and a mere 2.07 seconds behind the overall leader.

"He [Harmer] has really good work-ethic," said sophomore Shannon Payne, who runs for the UCCS women's team. "I think he has what it takes to be an outstanding runner. He's a great addition to the team."

Harmer transferred to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs from a school in London, England.

Harmer also competed in the men's distance medley, in which he and his teammates placed third.

Mark Brehm pulled double duty finishing 29th in the 400-meter dash. Brehm then ran again just 90 minutes later in the 200-meter dash. Brehm finished 33rd.

In the mile, Jason Braun and Dan Pinter finished sixth and seventh respectively. In the 3,000 meter, freshman Alex Tiernan led the Mountain Lions with a fifth place finish.
