UCCS men compete in Golden

Aaron Rubalcaba-Lopez finished sixth and Brad Winn took seventh in the men's 3000-meter run to provide the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with its only points Saturday at the Joe Davies Invitational in Golden, Colo.
Rubalcaba-Lopez Earned two points for his finish, which was clocked at 9 minutes, 13.02 seconds, only .24 of a second behind fifth-place Adams Rich of Western State. Winn, who finished .78 of a second behind Rubalcaba-Lopez, earned one team point for the Mountain Lions.
There were 11 UCCS runners among the 43 participants in the 3,000 meters.
The Mountain Lions competed in only two events at the meet. David Hamer took 15th and Jay Luna finished 16th in the mile run to lead five Mountain Lions in that event.
