Tum ready for double dip on Saturday

By Mike McNeely published May 27, 2005

Moses Tum will be very busy tomorrow.

Tum was the lone Mountain Lion to compete Friday at the NCAA Div II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, qualifying for the 800 meters finals. On Saturday Tum will not only run in the 800 final but also the 1500.

Tum, who was the fastest qualifier in Thursday's 1500 prelims, showed no sign of fatigue as he finished in 1:51.74.

Tum will have very little time to rest between races. Tum's first run, the 1500, is scheduled to start at 6:50 p.m. The 800, is scheduled for just an hour later.

Tum won't be the only one running tomorrow for UCCS. The women's steeplechase final in chock-full of Mountain Lions. Tina Gray, Ashley Birger and Sarah Shepard will all be shooting for a top-eight finish, and All-American recognition.
