The University of Colorado Springs men's track team faired well in its first day of competition at the 2005 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Outdoor Track Meet in Alamosa.

Craig Galaydick placed second in the discus throw. The senior's best throw was 162 feet, 10 inches, which provisionally qualifies him for nationals. The second place finish also netted the team eight points.

Aaron Rubalcaba-Lopez got UCCS six points, placing third in the 10,000. Rubalcaba-Lopez finished in 33:30. Ryan Price and Kyle Reno also ran well finishing eighth and 13th respectively.

Matt Creech, Dan Strishock and Mark Brehm all competed in the preliminaries of the 400 but were unable to qualify for the finals. Jason Braum and Gabe Small also ran in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
