Tum terrific at Mt. Sac
Moses Tum took second overall in the 1,500-meter run at the prestigious Mt. Sac Relays Friday, defeating 33 Division I runners in the process.
Tum's time of 3 minutes, 48.76 seconds was bested only by Providence's Max Smith, who edged Tum by 1.18 seconds. Drake's Brent Wilberts took third.
While Tum's time is a certain provisional qualifier - and quite possibly an automatic qualifier - for nationals, it was not known at press time exactly where it stood on the qualifying lists. That information will be updated here as it becomes available.
Also competing for the Mountain Lions was Brad Winn in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and Aaron Rubalcaba-Lopez in the 10,000-meter run.
Winn finished 20th out of 38 competitors overall and fourth among Division II runners with a time of 9:19.08. Rubalcaba-Lopez's finished 54th.
