Crystal Krebs became the first University of Colorado at Colorado Springs athlete to enther the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Hall of Fame when she was inducted Friday night during a ceremony at the Colorado Springs Marriott.

"It's an honor to be inducted with all the inductees tonight, with as many accolades as you have, and it's truly an honor," Krebs said in her induction speech. "Never in my mind would I have thought that I would be the first person from my college to be inducted, but also the first softball player in RMAC history. This is truly an honor and a dream come true."

Krebs played two seasons for the Mountain Lions as catcher in 2004-05, and won All-America honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association in both seasons. She was the NCAA Division II National Catcher of the Year in 2004 and set the national record with 0.52 home runs per game in 200, hitting 25 round-trippers in just 48 games. That season, Krebs won the RMAC triple crown by adding 70 RBIs and a .470 batting average.

Krebs was the first Capital One Academic All-American in school history in 2005 and was a member of the RMAC All-Century Team in 2009.

"Defensively, she did a great job with our pitchers," said UCCS softball coach Scott Peterson. "I don't think it's a coincidence that we had co-pitchers of the year when she was here."

In 2004, Krebs led the Mountain Lions to their only appearance in the NCAA Tournament, where they were eliminated by eventual national champion Angelo State. UCCS finished the season ranked No. 12.
