COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball pitcher, Becca Smith is named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, after leading the Mountain Lions to a series win against Regis University.

UCCS won three-of-four games this weekend, led by Becca Smith, who won both games she started. She allowed just eight hits and one run in 14 innings pitched. In a 5-0 shutout win on Saturday, Smith allowed just three hits while recording nine strikeouts. In two completed games, she posted a 0.50 earned run average with 14 strikeouts.

Smith is currently second in the RMAC for wins (13) and strikeouts (111), which is 33rd in the nation for strikeouts per seven innings and 41st in the nation for victories.

Smith is the first Mountain Lion to earn Pitcher of the Week honors this season, as she joins teammates Jessica Belsterling and Allie Corids, who are both previous RMAC Players of the Week.

Smith will look to continue her Pitcher of the Week caliber performance this weekend as UCCS travels to play Black Hills State (4-24 / 3-17 RMAC) in Spearfish, South Dakota for a four-game series. The first double-header begins Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
