Mountain Lions Take on the Grizzlies this Weekend in Alamosa

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball team (12-7-1 / 7-3 RMAC) travels to Alamosa this weekend to take on Adams State (6-5 / 5-1 RMAC).

UCCS leads the all-time series against Adams State 50-40 and has won eight of the previous games dating back to 2009. The Mountain Lions defeated the Grizzlies in two non-conference games to open this season: 15-6 and 11-3.

UCCS is first in the RMAC for on base percent (.428), batting average (.352), stolen bases (30), RBIs (129), runs (147), and fielding percent (.966)

TJ Flodman has reached base in the previous 10 games, which is the longest such streak this season.  

Payton Kornfeind is first in the RMAC for stolen bases with 10. Jourdan Hitchings is two back and tied for fourth with 8. Hitchings and Kornfeind are also in the top five for batting average hitting .478 and .459 which is fourth and fifth best in the RMAC respectively.

Becca Smith is second in the RMAC for wins with 8 and second in strikeouts with 71.

Jessica Belsterling leads the team with 5 HR, which is tied for third most in the RMAC.

The Grizzlies are led on offense by Katelyn Lovato who is first in the RMAC in batting average, hitting .525. Lovato is also second in the conference in stolen bases with nine.

Morgan McWilliams leads the team in pitching with an ERA of 2.15, which is fourth best in the RMAC.

Adams State is third in the RMAC for triples and fourth for batting percent, hitting .315 as a team.

The four-game series will begin with a double header on Saturday starting at noon. The final two games of the series will be played on Sunday starting at 11:00 a.m.
