Belsterling, Hitchings Named to All-Stinger Team
BILLINGS, Mont. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs pitcher Jessica Belsterling and outfielder Jourdan Hitchings were named to the 2013 Las Vegas Stinger All-Tournament team released late Thursday by Montana State-Billings.
Belsterling was named to the First Team after she went three-of-four with one run against Humboldt State on Feb. 9 and hit .357 during the weekend (five-of-14).She also recorded six strikeouts in two pitching appearances against Western Washington and Western Oregon. Belsterling ranks fourth in the RMAC during the nonconference season with 13 hits.
Hitchings was named to the Second Team and went two-of-four against Humboldt State last Saturday afternoon. She recorded 10 putouts as an outfielder, with four in the weekend-opener against Western Washington and three against Western Oregon.
UCCS is off this weekend before opening the home and conference schedule on Feb. 23 against Fort Lewis. First pitch for the doubleheader from Mountain Lion Field is set for noon.
