Flodman Extends Hitting Streak to Seven Games Against Western Oregon

LAS VEGAS - Jessica Belsterling recorded four strikeouts in five innings and went one-of-two at the plate as the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (5-3-1) fell to Western Oregon (2-6) 4-2 tonight in the fourth game for the Mountain Lions in the Desert Stinger Tournament at Majestic Park in northwest Las Vegas.

Western Oregon scored four runs throughout the first five innings before UCCS scored two runs in the sixth inning to close the gap against the Wolves. The Mountain Lions retired Western Oregon in order in the second and third innings and committed only one error, compared to three by the Wolves.

TJ Flodman recorded the lone extra-base hit of the night for UCCS in the two-run sixth inning to drive in Marissa Wallace. It was her fifth RBI of the season and kept the Mountain Lions on top of the conference statistics in RBIs. The hit also kept a seven-game hitting streak alive for Flodman.

Up Next: UCCS closes out the weekend and the non-conference schedule in a 3 p.m. MST game with Dixie State. The Red Storm are 2-1 this weekend.
