UCCS Radio to Carry Softball Games This Weekend

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball fans will be able to follow two of this weekend's games through live audio webcasts on UCCS Radio. The first and last games of the contests at the 2013 Desert Stinger Classic in Las Vegas, will be carried live by Sports Information Graduate Assistant M.J. Arjomandi.

The audio stream can be heard at radio.uccs.edu, using the most recent Flash plugin or through WinAmp or iTunes. Fans can test their connection ahead of the games by tuning in at any time on UCCS Radio.

The Mountain Lions go into the tournament with a 4-0-1 record after the RMAC Preseason Tournament last weekend in Denver. Jessica Belsterling was the RMAC Player of the Week after she hit .538 last weekend and hit for the cycle in the season-opener against Regis on Friday. Pitcher Becca Smith recorded 28 strikeouts, more than double any other pitcher in the RMAC, and went 3-0 last weekend.

UCCS will be one of 28 Division II teams at Majestic Park on the northwest side of Las Vegas. Montana State-Billings will use a staff of 50 workers to run the 70 games on seven fields in the largest Division II softball tournament hosted by a single school.
