Colorado Springs, CO:  Following her induction into the UCCS Inaugural Hall of Fame on Tuesday evening, the UCCS Athletic Department will retire Crystal Krebs #22 jersey at the softball games on Wednesday night.  The Mountain Lions will take on RMAC opponent Colorado Mines in a doubleheader.  Krebs' jersey retirement will take place before the the first game at 5:00 pm.

Krebs was a first-team All-American and the engine to the Mountain Lions offense during her time at UCCS.  During the 2004 season, she had arguably the best single season of any athlete in UCCS history. She was a First Team All-American, Diamond Sports NCAA Division II Catcher of the Year and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year.  The following season, for an encore in her Senior year, Krebs broke the NCAA Division II record for home runs per game, belting 25 in 48 games.

Krebs had a career batting average of .490 with 44 home runs and 129 RBIs during her Mountain Lion career. Despite playing only two seasons at UCCS, Krebs is the school's career leader in home runs, stands second in batting average and sixth in RBIs. She holds various school single-season marks for home runs, RBIs, hits and runs.

In 2009, Krebs was also named to the RMAC All-Time team. Krebs was unanimously seen by the RMAC as the top catcher in the 100 year history of the conference.
