UCCS to Retire Crystal Krebs' #22 Jersey
Colorado Springs, CO: Following her induction into the UCCS Inaugural Hall of Fame on Tuesday evening, the UCCS Athletic Department will retire Crystal Krebs #22 jersey at the softball games on Wednesday night. The Mountain Lions will take on RMAC opponent Colorado Mines in a doubleheader. Krebs' jersey retirement will take place before the the first game at 5:00 pm.
Krebs was a first-team All-American and the engine to the Mountain Lions offense during her time at UCCS. During the 2004 season, she had arguably the best single season of any athlete in UCCS history. She was a First Team All-American, Diamond Sports NCAA Division II Catcher of the Year and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year. The following season, for an encore in her Senior year, Krebs broke the NCAA Division II record for home runs per game, belting 25 in 48 games.
Krebs had a career batting average of .490 with 44 home runs and 129 RBIs during her Mountain Lion career. Despite playing only two seasons at UCCS, Krebs is the school's career leader in home runs, stands second in batting average and sixth in RBIs. She holds various school single-season marks for home runs, RBIs, hits and runs.
In 2009, Krebs was also named to the RMAC All-Time team. Krebs was unanimously seen by the RMAC as the top catcher in the 100 year history of the conference.

|May 10, 2012||Mathewson Named to 2012 NFCA All-Central Region Team||Colorado Springs, CO: Lara Mathewson was named to the 2012 NFCA All-Central Region Team today. Mathewson led the Mountain Lion offense this past season, by hitting a team best 11 home runs (tied 6th best in the conference) and had the 2nd highest batting average on the team at .419 (11th best in the conference). She also led the team with 42 RBI’s and was 3rd on the team in hits (49). She was also had a .803 slugging percentage which was good for 4th best in the conference, as well as the 5th best on base percentage in the conference at .511%. Mathewson started all 38 games for the Mountain Lions that she played in.|

UCCS junior Lara Mathewson was named first team conference, sophomore Jessica Belsterling was named second team, true freshman Emily Jennings made the third team, and Junior Landry Davis made third team.|
