| May 10, 2012 | Mathewson Named to 2012 NFCA All-Central Region Team | Colorado Springs, CO: Lara Mathewson was named to the 2012 NFCA All-Central Region Team today. Mathewson led the Mountain Lion offense this past season, by hitting a team best 11 home runs (tied 6th best in the conference) and had the 2nd highest batting average on the team at .419 (11th best in the conference). She also led the team with 42 RBI’s and was 3rd on the team in hits (49). She was also had a .803 slugging percentage which was good for 4th best in the conference, as well as the 5th best on base percentage in the conference at .511%. Mathewson started all 38 games for the Mountain Lions that she played in. | |
| April 25, 2012 | Four Mountain Lions Named to RMAC All-Conference Teams | The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its All-Conference teams on Tuesday for the 2012 softball season. UCCS junior Lara Mathewson was named first team conference, sophomore Jessica Belsterling was named second team, true freshman Emily Jennings made the third team, and Junior Landry Davis made third team. | |

| April 16, 2012 | UCCS to Retire Crystal Krebs' #22 Jersey | Following her induction into the UCCS Inaugural Hall of Fame on Tuesday evening, the UCCS Athletic Department will retire Crystal Krebs #22 jersey at the softball games on Wednesday night. The Mountain Lions will take on RMAC opponent Colorado Mines in a doubleheader. Krebs' jersey retirement will take place before the the first game at 5:00 pm. | |
| April 14, 2012 | UCCS Softball Drops Three of Four to Regis in Weekend Series | The UCCS women's softball team lost 3 games this weekend to the Regis Rangers in Denver, managing their only win of the series in the third game 4-3 in extra innings. The three losses put the Mountain Lions behind the eight ball down the stretch in the playoff race, as their record dropped to 18-21 overall, 16-18 RMAC. UCCS now finds themselves in 10th place overall in the conference standings and only the top 8 teams make it to the playoffs. Regis, on the other hand, did what the Mountain Lions had hoped coming into the weekend. By winning the series the Rangers played themselves into the 8th spot. The Rangers also become a tough team to catch as their final four games of the conference season will be against Black Hills State, a team that is 5-27 overall in the RMAC and in last place. The Mountain Lions will need to take care of business over the final six games of their season as well as get some help from teams now occupying the final playoff spots. | |
