Softball Ranks No. 45 Nationally in GPA, Four Honored Individually

UCCS Softball team ranked No.  45 nationally in grade point average in 2010-11, according to National Fastpitch Coaches Association press release that was released on Monday.

UCCS softball team finished the 2010-11 year with an average GPA of 3.23. Four of the UCCS Mountain Lions softball team members received the Division II All-America Scholar Athlete award. Jessica Belsterling, Melissa DeWitt, Amanda Hathaway and Erin Milburn were each honored

The award is given to any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2010-11 academic year. The award is the second component of the Association's academic award program.
