Because of illness, a dedication ceremony for a bronze statute scheduled for approximately 1 p.m. Saturday at Mountain Lion Field on the campus of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, is cancelled.

UCCS officials learned this afternoon of the illness of Dr. Glenn Williams, the benefactor of a 12-foot-tall bronze statue that will grace Mountain Lion Field at the Four Diamonds Sports Complex. The university hopes to reschedule the dedication ceremony so Dr. Williams can participate and be joined by members of the Mountain Lion Softball Team.

The final home games for the Mountain Lion Softball Team are scheduled for Saturday against Adams State University. The first game of planned double header is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Mountain Lion Field. Game updates will be available from UCCS Sports Information Director Doug Fitzgerald, (719) 255-3003.
