By Doug Fitzgerald published May 22, 2010

University of Colorado Springs senior first baseman Jessika Anastos was named to the 2010 Daktronics, Inc. Softball All-Central Region Second Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday.

Anastos, who was a first-team all-region and third-team All-American selection by Daktronics in 2009, hit .333 in 2010 with 18 home runs and 41 RBIs. Anastos, who set an NCAA home run record in 2009 with 0.57 per game, finishes her UCCS career second in home runs with 42. She accumulated that number in just two seasons, having transferred to UCCS after two years at Fort Hays State.

Minnesota State University, Mankato's senior catcher Kelsey Thompson was named the 2010 Daktronics, Inc. Softball Central Region Player of the Year, while Metropolitan State's (Denver) senior pitcher Christie Robinson tabbed the 2010 Daktronics, Inc. Softball Central Region Pitcher of the Year honors.
