Anastos Named Player of the Week

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs first baseman Jessika Anastos was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference player of the week, the RMAC announced Tuesday.

Anastos hit three home runs on the weekend to give her 20 for the season. She went 6-for-11 (.545) as the Mountain Lions split their home series against Metro State. In game four of the series, she went 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs batted in and three runs scored. In the series, she drove in six batters and scored seven times while also drawing four walks.

Anastos leads the NCAA with 0.61 home runs per game and is on pace to break the NCAA record of 0.52 per game set by UCCS alum Crystal Krebs in 2004. She was perfect defensively in 30 attempts (29 putouts, one assist).
