Haney Named to Daktronics All-South Central Region First Team

University of Colorado at Colorado Springs senior center fielder Stacy Haney was named first-team all-South Central Region by Daktronics, it was announced Wednesday.

Haney led the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in batting average (.519), was second in walks (34) and stolen bases (24) and third in doubles (17). She also hit 10 home runs and drove in 53.

The South Central Region is comprised of the RMAC, the Lone Star Conference and the Heartland Conference. There are eight regions in NCAA Division II.

By virtue of her being named first-team all-region, Haney will now be listed on the ballot for Daktronics All-American. As a junior, Haney was named first-team All-American by Daktronics.

The Daktronics all-region honorees are nominated and voted upon by the sports information directors of each respective region. The All-American honorees will be voted upon by SIDs nationwide. The coaches all-region and All-American teams will be run through the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
