Haney Named RMAC Player of the Week for Sixth Time in Career
COLORADO SPRINGS - University of Colorado at Colorado Springs center fielder Stacy Haney was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference player of the week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Haney's three-run double in the series opener at home against Chadron State broke a scoreless tie as UCCS went on to win 4-3. She batted .769 in the series (10-for-13) with seven runs scored and nine runs batted in. She added two home runs and three doubles in the series split. On Sunday, Haney went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI in game one before going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and five runs batted in.
She drew two walks in the series, struck out once and is now hitting .543 and averaging 1.19 RBI per game. She also stole three bases in the series and now leads the RMAC with 20 stolen bases.
It was Haney's second player of the week award this season and the sixth in the past two seasons.
