Mountain Lions Split Doubleheader Against Regis

COLORADO SPRINGS - Stacy Haney's two-run double to right field in the seventh inning tied the game and Tasha Pagdilao singled to complete the comeback 4-3 victory in the opener as the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs went on to split the doubleheader against the Regis Rangers Monday at Mountain Lion Field.

UCCS (22-9, 12-6 RMAC) lost the second game 16-8, with Stacy Ortiz (10-6) taking the loss.

Haney went 3-for-6 on the night with three RBIs. Her home run in the bottom of the sixth inning of the opener cut Regis' lead to 2-1.

With two outs and two runners on base Tasha Pagdilao's single to right field late in the seventh inning won the game. Pagdilao went 3-for-6 on the night, with Libby White (12-3) taking the win.

Christine Gardella went 4-for-9 on the night with six RBIs and two home runs for Regis (11-12, 2-8 RMAC). Kaitlyn Gentert (7-4) took the loss in Game 1.

Lindsay Shandera hit a single to right field to make it a 1-1 in the bottom of the first inning of the second game. With UCCS behind by two in the fourth inning a single by Brisky, Rachel Hancock, and Brianna Workman helped pull them ahead 6-4.

Sarah Cleland opened the fifth inning of the second game with a home run to tie the game at 7-7. With two outs Sarah Brisky who went 2-for-2 in Game 2 with two RBIs hit a home run to put the Mountain Lions ahead 8-7.

But with an error, a two-run single by Lindsey Witty, and a three-run home run by Gardella in the top of the sixth put UCCS behind 14-8. Jacqueleen Martinez added a two-run home run to seal the win. Ali Davenport (3-8) earned the win.
