Haney Named Player of the Week
Stacy Haney of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference player of the week, the conference announced Wednesday.
It was an auspicious beginning to Haney's UCCS career as she led the Mountain Lions to a 5-2 start in the 2007 season. The junior transfer from Lamar Junior College batted .583 in seven games last week against Colorado College, Fort Hays State, CSU-Pueblo, and Regis.
Haney collected 14 hits in 24 at bats, including two home runs and two doubles. She also scored 11 times and drove in 18 runs. Both of her home runs came against Fort Hays State on Feb. 10 in Pueblo, Colo. In that game, she posted two hits and drove in seven runs.
