Three Games Rained Out

By Doug Fitzgerald published February 19, 2005

Unrelenting rain showers in the Phoenix area Friday and Saturday forced the cancellation of the remainder of the RMAC/Lone Star Crossover Tournament.

For the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, the tournament was close to a worst-case scenario. Slumbering bats caused the Mountain Lions to lose their first two games Friday. When the rain started falling, it forced what was then a postponement of Fridayâ€TMs late game â€" and a chance for redemption â€" against No. 24 Texas Womanâ€TMs.

The subsequent cancellation erased not only the Texas Womanâ€TMs game, but also a rematch of the South Central Region championship game between CU-Colorado Springs and Angelo State which was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Also eliminated was the Mountain Lionsâ€TM game against St. Edwardâ€TMs.
