Darren Gallagher begins his first season on staff with the UCCS Men’s Soccer program.
Gallagher will enter his eighth year coaching at the collegiate level. Prior to UCCS, Gallagher was the head coach at NJCAA Division I Ancilla College. He was head coach for two years with Indiana University men’s club team and spent two seasons as the men’s soccer assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He returned to the UW-Oshkosh program after serving as an assistant coach at Ripon College in 2005 and 2006.
Gallagher also has experience coaching higher level teams in the Midwest Regional League with NEW United (2006-2009), Cutters Soccer Club (2010-2011), and Jr. Irish Soccer Club (2011-2013). Along with coaching, Darren has held administrative roles of Director of Youth Development (Oshkosh United), Director of Development (Cutters) and Director of Coaching (Jr. Irish).
While playing soccer at UW-Oshkosh from 2001-04, the defender helped the Titans to a 59-13-6 record and three NCAA Division III postseason appearances. In 2003, the Mukwonago High School graduate was a starter on the back line of a UW-Oshkosh defense that allowed 8 goals; including 16 shutouts. The 2003 squad posted an impressive 21-1 record and advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA Division III Championship.
