Roberts named to Daktronics first team all-region

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs mens' soccer player James Roberts was named Daktronics first team all-South Central Region on Monday. It is the first time in his career he has been named Daktronics all-region. Sports information directors from the South Central Region selected the teams.

Colorado Mines senior Tesho Akindele was named the region's player of the year.

Roberts, a junior midfielder, was named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference second team after starting 16 games. He netted six goals and had three assists, while also being named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week twice. 

UCCS finished the season 6-7-4 overall and 5-6-3 in the RMAC.
