COLORADO SPRINGS. Colo. - The Mountain Lions unbeaten streak finally came to an end at home today against No. 9 Colorado School of Mines (5-1-1 / 3-1 RMAC) by virtue of a 2-1 loss for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (2-2-2 / 1-1-2 RMAC) at Mountain Lion Stadium.
Coming off an exciting 3-2 overtime victory Friday night over No. 16 Fort Lewis, UCCS came within a goal of continuing their early season unbeaten streak in the RMAC.
The Orediggers got on the board first when Baski Baker scored on a pass from Tesho Akindele for the game's first goal in the 27th minute for a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
Colorado Mines added to the lead on a Richard Garvey header in the box that snuck past UCCS goalkeeper Brandon Costa in the 51st minute. Shortly thereafter, James Roberts got the Mountain Lions on the board with a header of his own when he connected with Liam Levy-Phillipp in the 54th minute to make up the 2-1 final the game would finish at.
