COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Colorado Colorado Springs goalkeeper Brandon Costa recorded his second shutout of the season (tied for RMAC lead) and extended his scoreless minutes streak to 200:00 against Metro State this past weekend while playing to a 0-0 tie to earn his second RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honor this season. He has a RMAC-leading goals against average of .000 to go along with a RMAC-leading save percentage of 1.000. Costa has not given up a goal this season.

This is Costa's second RMAC Defensive Player of the week award this season giving him two out of a possible three weeks this fall.

The game against Metro State saw Costa make three saves on his way to an impressive 110:00 minutes of shutout soccer against a formidable Roadrunners squad.

The shutout also puts Costa only two more shutouts away from moving into a tie for second in the UCCS career record book.

The UCCS single-season record for shutouts in a season is nine set by UCCS Athletics Hall of Fame member Greg Meyer in 1997. Costa's single-season high was this past fall during the 2012 campaign when Costa recorded five shutouts.
