Mountain Lions Close out Regular Season at CSU-Pueblo
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team is headed south to Pueblo, Colo. for their final regular season game of the 2013 season against the ThunderWolves of CSU-Pueblo.
Despite suffering a Friday night loss to New Mexico Highlands (9-5-3, 7-5-1 RMAC) in their final home game, UCCS (9-6-1, 6-6-1 RMAC) secured their right to the 2013 RMAC tournament. This marks the fifth time in the program's short seven year existence that the Mountain Lions are headed to the RMAC tournament.
The ThunderWolves (6-10, 3-10 RMAC) are lead by sophomore Amanda Jorgenson who has nine points on the season off of three goals and three assists. CSU-Pueblo has struggling on both sides of the field this year as they are currently ranked last in the RMAC for scoring with 13 goals and seventh in defense with 22 goals allowed.
The Mountain Lions hold a 5-3-2 advantage in the all time series against the ThunderWolves. Last season UCCS went 2-0 against CSU-Pueblo, outscoring the ThunderWolves by an impressive 6-1 margin. Junior forward Hannah Levett netted three goals for the Mountain Lions over the two matches.
Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at Rawlings Complex on the CSU-Pueblo campus.
