UCCS Men Earn Sixth Seed in RMAC Tournament
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team (6-7-3 / 5-6-3 RMAC) has officially qualified for the RMAC end of season tournament and will face the third seed Colorado Mesa University (10-5-3 / 8-3-3 RMAC). The game will take place at 6 p.m., Wednesdsay, at Walker Field in Grand Junction, Colo.
The Mountain Lions found themselves in this same position just one short year ago.
UCCS squared off against CMU in the 2012 RMAC opening round and notched a 1-0 victory at Mountain Lion Stadium. The Mountain Lions will be looking for similar results this time around but will have to travel for that to happen.
This game will determine who gets head-to-head bragging rights this season since nothing could be decided either time these two teams met during the regular season with a tie being the result both times. UCCS trails the all-time series 3-7-1.
The winner of this game will play No. 2 seed Colorado School of Mines this Friday. The game will take place Friday at Regis, the regular season champion.
The other opening round game going Wednesday will be Fort Lewis at Metro State in Denver, Colo.
