Men's Soccer Game Cancelled Due to Lightning
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Today's game between the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and Midwestern State University was canceled due to lightning.
The game was initially suspended with 41 minutes and 20 seconds remaining in the second half. Both teams waited through a lightning delay for more than an hour, and were about to resume play when another bolt of lightning lead to the cancellation.
Since 70 minutes is needed for an NCAA soccer match to count, none of the stats recorded in the first-half today will count.
Because Midwestern State is located in Wichita Falls, Texas, the game will likely not be made up. If another date is proposed, it will be announced by both teams when it is finalized.
UCCS heads out on the road next weekend to take on Metro State on Friday 20 September, 2013 at 3:30 p.m.
