By Alex Cramer published September 10, 2013

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A 3-0 shutout against St. Mary's University gave University of Colorado Colorado Springs goalkeeper Brandon Costa the 10th shutout of his career and earned him RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honors today from the Rocky Mountain Athletic conference office. It's the second weekly conference award in his career.

Costa made seven saves against the Rattlers en route to the shutout last Thursday night. It was the first season-opening shutout for the Mountain Lions since 2006 and the fifth in program history. Costa needs three more shutouts to move into a tie for second in UCCS career records.

The Mountain Lions remain at home for a Friday game with Eastern New Mexico at 5 p.m. The night will also be Youth Night, and youth soccer players who wear their team jersey or t-shirt will receive free admission for themselves, their parents and their siblings.
