Men's Soccer Seventh in RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team, a conference tournament semifinalist team in 2012, was picked seventh in the RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll announced this afternoon. The Mountain Lions finished three points behind Colorado State-Pueblo in the voting.
UCCS won its first playoff game since 1998 last season and made its first semifinal appearance since 2001. Head Coach Johnnie Keen led the Mountain Lions to a 9-9-1 record in his first season, which included a 1-4 start to the season. The Mountain Lions defeated a pair of top-25 team and won five straight games during the early half of the conference season.
UCCS returns eight starters and 10 letterwinners from last year's team. Max Thomas was an All-RMAC Second Team pick and James Roberts was an RMAC All-Tournament selection.
The Mountain Lions open the 2013 season at home with a regional contest against St. Mary's from San Antonio, Texas. The game begins at 7 p.m., on Sept. 5 at Mountain Lion Stadium.

|November 6, 2013||UCCS Men lose in shootout to Mavericks||After 110 minutes of play nothing could be decided between the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (6-8-3 / 5-6-3 RMAC) and Colorado Mesa University (11-5-3 / 8-3-3 RMAC) who played to a 1-1 tie through double overtime in the quarterfinals of the RMAC tournament. Due to the nature of the match being a playoff game it headed to a shootout where the Mavericks won the shootout 6-5 to advance.|
