UCCS women’s soccer team in top 25 for first time

With an historic 6-0 start to the season, the Colorado-Colorado Springs women's soccer team broke into the top 25 at No. 11 of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II polls for the first time. The Mountain Lions moved to second in the NSCAA South Central Regional polls.

UCCS is the only undefeated team in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and one of 13 undefeated teams in NCAADivision II through Monday. The Mountain Lions are third in the nation with a save percentage of 94.7 and No. 12 in the nation with a goals-against average of 0.333.

The scoring offense ranks No. 29 in Division II with three athletes ranked in the top 100 in the nation for goals per game. The Mountain Lions have outscored opponents 15-2 this season with shutouts in the past three games. UCCS has won seven straight home games dating back to last season.

Kelly Schroeder was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference defensive player of the week.
